With the support of the Civil Society Support Program in Central Asia, we launched the project "Gender Budget for Local Communities"

Purpose

Promoting the practical implementation of gender budgeting mechanisms initiated from below to systematically address the problems of local women's communities.

Activities are carried out in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and consist of two stages: training and implementation of gender initiatives at the local level.

During the training, the participants gained knowledge of what a gender-oriented budget is, why gender initiatives are needed, how to use tools and methods of a gender-oriented approach. An important part of the training was budget cycle, participation in budget formation. The participants were able to put into practice their knowledge of finding sources of information on the financing of government programs. Building capacity in understanding gender budgeting and budget cycle will enable participants to more effectively advance the interests of their target groups.

Uzbekistan

"Transparency and participation in the budgetary process for the formation of funds to help women who are left without a breadwinner"

"Women - individual entrepreneurs and the formation of taxes" - analysis and development of mechanisms for the participation of women entrepreneurs in the formation of local taxes "

"Review of budgetary initiatives related to helping women and children from poor families during the complete quarantine of the Khorezm region"

Initiatives are implemented with the involvement of the local community and local authorities.

The results of the project will be presented in September.
