NGO Echo, with the support of the Eurasia Foundation within the framework of the Social Innovation in Central Asia program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is implementing project Gender Budget for Local Communities. The project is realized in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
In Samarkand, the initiative “Women - Individual Entrepreneurs and Formation of Taxes - Analysis and Development of Mechanisms for the Participation of Women Entrepreneurs in the Formation of Local Taxes.” According to Samarkand activists, this is the direction that is relevant for many free entrepreneurs in the region.
Among the events in Samarkand, it is planned to develop and organize a public discourse of problems on an ongoing basis and discuss initiative groups of women - entrepreneurs in blogging publications and social networks. A joint meeting was planned with representatives of the city Khokimiyat, the most active women - entrepreneurs, representatives of the local Kengash of people's deputies, the media and independent experts from the Civil Society. Purpose: development of a unified position of the parties and submission to the local budget for consideration of a number of proposals to improve transparency.
